Objective

To use my electrical and electronics background and transferable skills as an electronics or electrical CAD designer/drafter/technologist/electrician/engineer preferably in the renewable energy industry in order to decrease global climate change.

Skills

  • Excellent self-organization, time management, and individual research skills. This is proved by achieving awards for a high GPA in a college, receiving a 95/100 grade for a final BA project, and helping other students to gain a better understanding of course material.

  • Excellent communication skills were developed due to being a peer tutor that required strong advising, coaching, and clarification abilities as well as expressing empathy to those students who struggled to receive sufficient grades and pass courses.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills in critical situations. Problems with damaged electronic components and a lack of labour were successfully solved while being a project manager.

  • Strong critical thinking, fast learning abilities, and skill to use past experience in resolving issues. This has helped me to make decisions on how to work with AutoCAD Electrical during practical work knowing a basic version, learn English at an advanced level in 9 months, and switch academic programs without serious difficulties.

  • Experienced working in groups and comfortable taking on a leadership / project management role, particularly, in research projects. Project management skills were acquired while leading groups and performing academic tasks that received “A” grades.

  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Russian.

  • Proficient in the design and creation of electrical layouts, schematics, plans, drafts, electrical load calculations, and structural drawings for power generation/ transmission/ distribution systems using CAD software. A 5-month project of a power distribution system connected from renewable electric power stations (wind and solar PV) to a power grid / autonomous consumer called “Electrical power supply system for a settlement “Greensburg” using renewable energy sources (RES)” was designed in 2015.

  • Skillful in the development of documentation, drawings, BOMs, schematics, and wire diagrams for electronic embedded systems including the creation of hardware and software using C and C++ programming languages. An energy-saving “LumenCon lighting control system” working prototype was created in a group of 3 students with me being a project manager in 2017.

  • Strong understanding of technological processes and very comprehensive computer skills of specialized software for documentation, electrical/electronic design, and calculations: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project), AutoCAD / Electrical / Revit, DIALux, Multisim, MS Visual Studio, MPLAB, DipTrace, Matlab, and Mathcad.

  • Proficient in working with visual design, photography, and video editing software: Adobe Suite and Sony Vegas.

  • Knowledgeable in classic programming languages and standards: Visual Basic, Pascal, and HTML.

Education

International Business Management – Graduate Certificate                                                                  May 2017 – Jan 2018

Fanshawe College

  • President’s Honour Roll Award Recipient: GPA 4.05/4.2

  • The program has clarified how international trade concepts can be applied to implement my previous projects in real life; it also helped me to significantly improve my group work, communication, and writing skills.

Electronics & Embedded Systems Development – Graduate Certificate                                                         Sep 2016 – Apr 2017

Fanshawe College

  • President’s Honour Roll Award Recipient: GPA 4.03/4.2

  • The program has taught me how to create practical electronic prototypes that are included in a previously designed power distribution system and made me familiar with the industry standards in Canada. My project management, problem-solving, and communication skills have critically improved.

Electrical Power Engineering (RES) – Bachelor’s Degree                                                                         Sep 2011 – Jun 2015

Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications

  • GPA 3.47/4

  • The program has encouraged individual research and self-learning skills that helped me to consolidate all information about the electrical power engineering industry into one realistic final project that has achieved the highest grade.

Assistant Programming – Certificate                                                                     Sep 2006 – May 2011

Almaty College of Economics and Law

  • The courses taken as a part of a high school program helped me to know the fundamentals of programming, technical support, and computer skills.

Experience

Commercial Photography                                                   Nov 2010 – now

Vadim Zhang Photography

  • ·More than 9 years in the event, portrait, wedding, landscape, and other forms of commercial photography have taught me how to professionally communicate with individual customers or businesses, creatively solve specific tasks, meet various requirements, and follow the contract details.

Peer Tutoring                                                       Jan 2017 – Jan 2018

Fanshawe College

  • Tutoring of Electronic Embedded Systems and Electronic Circuit Design courses.

  • Helping other students to understand course material required strong problem analysis and communication skills to consult on overcoming difficulties with passing a course.

Pre-degree Practice (Internship)                                              Jan 2015 – Feb 2015

KAZSEP Institute LLP, Almaty

  • This experience has offered me detailed technical guidance on how to do a comparison and selection the most feasible connection method to a power grid; design of electrical power transformation substations; selection of transformers and protective equipment; design of electrical power transmission systems based on “Schemes of power distribution” for proposed solar power station (SPP) and wind power plant (WPP) projects.

  • Professional communication abilities within a group of engineers and problem-solving skills were developed helping colleagues to review and edit feasibility studies and projects in the electrical power generation industry.
